The Iavnana Foundation has assisted Georgian students who remained homeless in Germany because of the Corona virus pandemic. Most of them were with exchange training programs in different cities, but when the pandemic was announced all the schools were closed. The foundation helped students to return to Georgia, including Nutsa Zakaidze, mezzo-soprano studying in Italy.

In the recent years, the letters addressed to “Iavnana” Foundation by the socially vulnerable families contain mainly the request for food products and home appliances. The latest of the Foundation’s charity actions was targeted at 5 large families in the Eastern Georgia Sagarejo region, who were provided gas cookers, beds, food products, medicine vouchers, as

“Iavnana” Foundation gave New Year’s gifts of home appliances, furniture and food products to five socially vulnerable Mumladze, Kusiani, Omiadze, Makaridze and Akhvlediani families.

Elene Darchia, 9, young musician from Batumi sea port and a winner of the Piano Festival held in the Georgian town of Senaki won the 2019/20 academic year “Iavnana” Foundation scholarship. Mr. Valerian Shiukashvili, a well-known Georgian pianist introduced Elene to the attendees.

Support was provided to 16 socially vulnerable large families (60 children in all) across Georgia. Apart from the food products, they were given household appliances: fridges, washing machines, hygienic items and clothes.
